Social Media Brings Light to Interior Design
In a world of convenience and technology right at our finger tips to meet any and every need, every industry is racing to accommadate to remain in the races. The amount of ideas, inspiration and information available online makes it so we scarcely have to tear away from a computer screen to so much as order a pizza.
When it comes to being creative, we scour blogs and DIY sites and designers’ pages to find that inspiration or direction for just how to go about just about anything, longing for that convenience. It is hard to keep it all in one place and to keep track of where you found that perfect bedroom or that unique painting technique or that one how to on turning a suitcase into a vintage nightstand. Well, a new online operation has taken all of this and put it at your fingertips. Pinterest is the latest fad and the interior designers here at Baker Design Group are for sure utitlizing it.
Acting as a virtual bulletin board, it is simple to get organized, get inspired and get pinning. Gone are the days of forgetting where you found things or having to remember exactly what you googled to get to that perfect furniture site. After installing the “Pin It” button, you can “pin” anything and everything to your account of bulletin boards. While only an image will show on your board, that image will hyperlink directly back to where you found it and you never have to “bookmark” again. Log into your account anywhere and pull up anything that once inspired you and be linked right back to that source. Whats not to love? Not only see what once inspired you, but follow other boards and “re-pin” what’s inspiring others to your own boards.
Who needs cutouts, unorganized post-it notes and cluttered cork boards when you can have all your ideas organized how you like it in one place online. Start by following the boards of Baker Design Group staff members, Heather Mattox http://pinterest.com/hmattox/ and Lisa Sorenson http://pinterest.com/lisasorenson/. See what we’re loving and what designs get our creative juices flowing and then get yours going. Don’t forget, there’ s an app for that too. We love having Pinterest on our phones to be ready to pin at any minute. Ready, set, PIN!
